Biography

As cliche as it may sound, I was one of those kids who received a camera for Christmas and who’s life was changed as a result. It all began when I was twelve. I was a very shy but curious young girl. This camera was like a magic door to a world full of miracles and wonders. Through the lens I began to explore the world. People became accessible. I found my calling and my way of relating to the world around me. Most importantly I had some powerful things to offer the world….My unique vision. Sensitivity to light. Natural talent for making people feel comfortable. And the ability and determination to go to any length to tell stories and to explore people and places. I was fortunate to meet and work for Gordon B. Ames, genius of the Ansel Adams Zone System school of black and white photography and photo printing. For four years, Gordon taught me all he knew about the fine art of B&W printing. As my mentor, he also encouraged me to ‘pound the pavement’ and and share my work with those who could put my talent and passion to good use. I obtained a degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from Florida International University. Based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I love nature, fitness, good food, good friends and travel.

Experience

My passion for light in all its manifestations, has allowed me to excel in a multidisciplinary career within the advertising, lifestyle, hospitality, corporate and industrial worlds of photography. I am as comfortable photographing people for advertising, hospitality and lifestyle clients as I am with architectural photography, interiors and food. I strive to make images that feel authentic and real. Helping others achieve their marketing and brand goals inspires me creatively and is what guides my work. No commercial photography assignment or production is too small or too large. My creative process begins in pre-production meetings with clients, followed with exceptional on location photography skills, appropriate digital post production techniques and ends with high quality deliverables. Based in South Florida, I shoot world wide with the assistance of countless talented resources, which I have collaborated with throughout 28+ years in the industry.
